But in typical Wasserstein fashion, this multifaceted tale turns to depict a heroine balancing her political and professional ambitions with her personal life. But the story isn't limited to questions about the expectations of women. A media frenzy ignites after a piece of Dr. Hughes' past comes back to haunt her, highlighting the demands all politicians face when thrust into the public arena.
