It's Launch Day: Return to the Forbidden Planet

by Bob Carlton, directed by Bradley Donaldson, December 7-16, 2012

Friday, December 7 marked the 40th Anniversary of NASA's Apollo 17 launch at 12:33 a.m. from the Kennedy Space Center on Pad 39A (which later hosted many of the Space Shuttle missions). Apollo 17 was the final lunar landing mission and was the first night lanuch of the Saturn V rocket. Aboard Apollo 17 were astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, commander; astronaut Ronald E. Evans, command module pilot; and scientist-astronaut Harrison H. Schmitt, lunar module pilot.

What does this have to do with The Chameleon Theatre Circle?

On Friday, December 7, 2012, The Chameleon Theatre Circle launched Return to the Forbidden Planet with a crew of dozens. It's continuing mission: to sing their life stories; to crash land on strange new worlds; to rock out boldly where Shakespeare and Science Fiction have never gone before! Updating William Shakespeare's The Tempest and setting it in the far-flung future, Return to the Forbidden Planet revels in the glory days of rock and roll. You'll tap your toes, you'll sing along, you'll rock out to infinity . . . and beyond?
